background
The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce (CRCC) partnered with the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the University of Virginia to launch Project Rebound in April 2020.
This special initiative served to engage local business leaders to share insights, identify challenges, and build actionable strategies with the goal of developing a blueprint for restoring local business operations and building economic resiliency in the wake of COVID-19.
The name “Project Rebound” was inspired by the words of UVA Basketball Coach Tony Bennett, after winning the NCAA national championship, April 2019 – “If you learn to use it right – the adversity – it will buy you a ticket to a place you could not have gone any other way.”
Inviting collaboration across the local business community for Project Rebound, they wanted to establish a visual brand that would help identify and unify a complex process led by a coalition of several partner organizations -- convening nearly 300 volunteers for a series of concurrent virtual meetings across multiple industries in a 6-week time period, collecting feedback and ideas into a community action plan produced by KPMG.

we selected stickynote creative because…
“Bunmi was very responsive and had a clear, easy-to-follow process. We were impressed by her discovery questionnaire that quickly and easily helped us focus in on the right design ideas.”

story of impact
The Project Rebound logo simplified the initiative’s communications enormously. With four organizations leading the project, having a standalone logo brought unity and avoided the potential distractions of using all four logos, or confusion if each organization used its own logo when communicating about the project activities.
The clear visual identity helped participants feel connected to the project and each other, even though the entire process took place early in the pandemic lockdown when social isolation was at its peak.
what we did
With no logo complete on its own, StickyNote Creative curated a suite of brand colors and provided font recommendations.
In addition to the visual identity, StickyNote Creative created a project timeline infographic, custom Zoom background and a series of social media graphic templates.
These materials proved to be critical time savers for the team as they worked quickly during the Pandemic to keep project participants and the community well-informed on multiple platforms throughout the process.
standout features
“Bunmi's clear communication throughout the project was invaluable. We always knew what was happening next and when things would be ready. She quickly understood our needs and translated our team's ideas into a visual product that fit perfectly. Bunmi kindly accommodated a short timeline for us due to the urgency and unpredictability of the early COVID situation. She generously worked with our limited budget to support this community-focused project responding to an urgent and widespread need. She was positive, encouraging and helpful at every turn.”
–Ann Marie Hohenberger, Marketing & Communications Director, Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce
