design found me

My passion for print design started unexpectedly during my high school chemistry class. It all began when I created a brochure (in MS Publisher, omg, so old school!) to complement a molecular model project. To my surprise, I found that I enjoyed designing the brochure more than the actual project.

I found myself daydreaming about having that kind of fun for my job - all of the time. That summer I coincidentally met my first graphic designer and studied her portfolio. I knew I had found my calling.

Today, my love of all things design holds strong.

I started my career with a service year as an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer, where I served as a marketing associate for a nonprofit organization in Boston (shout out to Generations Incorporated, now called Literations).

For over 15 years, I worked in-house as a graphic design and marketing professional in nonprofit, higher education, and corporate settings. My passion for supporting mission-driven organizations came full circle when I launched StickyNote Creative.

Using design as a tool to empower nonprofits and higher education institutions adds so much purpose to the work I do. It allows me to contribute a small part to the bigger picture of positive impact, making it the perfect way to spend my work week.

IT’S ME, BUNMI:
THE FACE BEHIND STICKYNOTE CREATIVE.

let’s get to know each other

I grew up in San Antonio, TX, so there’s always a part of me that still considers Texas home and my love for Tex-Mex, sweet tea, smoked brisket and using the word “y’all” will never fade.

And when I’m not too exhausted from joining forces with my husband to keep up with our two highly-spirited littles, you’ll find me catching up on my latest episode of a tv show du jour, sipping on a glass of wine (or chamomile tea…depending on the day’s events!) or simply taking advantage of (rare) moments of peace and quiet by taking a walk to recharge.
